Why employ an interior designer?
Hiring a interior designer will most certainly save you money. It may sound odd at first but if you think about it logically, it makes perfect sense. Employing a professional in most situations, will leave you with a better result than if you were to do it yourself. Hiring a designer can help you to avoid costly mistakes that will not only help you save money but can help increase the value of your home as a whole. Even more so when you are selling. Professionally styled homes boost buyer appeal and set your home above the competition.
Interior designers, like Katie, are highly trained to see and notice things that you may not. For example, assessing the overall space to begin with will lead to a solid plan of action. In this case, Katie will determine what can be repurposed or should be edited out completely. This in turn will not only effect the budget, but help you to spend more efficiently.
Interior designers know their stuff and they know where to source it from. This knowledge will save a huge amount of time and research. Designers also get special rates on product and although a lot of designers don't pass on this saving to their clients, Katie makes sure that each and every time, the price she gets, is the price you get.
Katie says,"It's in my DNA to think spatially and outside the box. I can visualise the overall picture from very early on and then it's my job to deliver it with the WOW factor my client has been searching for. For me, it's my job and my passion all rolled in to one and its what I do all day long, so you need to trust that i'll deliver the best possible end result based on your budget and brief."
The 'We Create' philosophy
Katie Bossong is passionate about every space she designs and has a strong belief about quality over quantity. She believes that the pieces you have in your home should be timeless and stand the test of time. "I see the huge amount of joy these pieces bring to my clients, whether they're custom made, bespoke dining tables, custom built joinery units which serve a specific purpose or Items like beautiful character doors and windows which not only give the exterior of the home identity, but also add another level of depth to the interior." Katie says, for her its all bout maintaining a balance within the space. "We can't always have a home filled with big ticket items, so i'll always dig deep to find out what are the areas within the home that provide the most joy and use. For example if a client says they have a big family and every Monday night they have family dinner at home with everyone, that suggests to me that a strong focus needs to be around the dining space and investing in a custom table that fits the whole family, is durable as well as timeless, is a must. We then have our focus room and all the other spaces can evolve from this."
"Cohesion and familiarity are the basis to all my designs. The space needs to tell a story as you move through it and each room needs to own its identity, yet have familiar links to the rest of the house. As designers we do this with the colour palette and materials we use throughout the space."
At the end of the day your home should tell the story of who you are, and be a finely curated collection of what you love.
